LOCAL LAW NO. 2-2025 TO AMENDING TOWN CODE CHAPTER 58, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, TO ALTER THE RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS FOR DEPUTY TOWN SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a Local Law has been introduced to the Mendon Town Board on June 9, 2025, designated as Local Law No.25-02 to alter the residency restrictions for Deputy Town Superintendent of Highways.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that, in sum and substance, the purpose of said local law includes amending Chapter 58, Officers and Employees, to not require the Deputy Town Superintendent of Highways to have residency in the Town of Mendon.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that said Local Law is on file in the Mendon Town Clerk’s Office at Mendon Town Hall at 16 W Main St., Honeoye Falls, NY, as well as HERE , where it is available for public inspection.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that a Public Hearing upon said Local Law has been scheduled for the 14th day of July, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., to be held by the Mendon Town Board at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 W Main St., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.  An opportunity to be heard in regards thereto will then and there be given.  Written comments may also be directed to the Mendon Town Clerk at Mendon Town Hall on or before 4:30 PM on the day of the hearing.

LOCAL LAW NO. 1-2025 TO AMEND THE TOWN OF MENDON ZONING LEGISLATION TO REGULATE TEMPORARY SIGNAGE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a Local Law has been introduced to the Mendon Town Board on June 9, 2025 designated as Local Law No.25-01 to amend the Town of Mendon Zoning Legislation to regulate temporary signage.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that, in sum and substance, the purpose of said local law includes regulations applicable to temporary signage not already addressed by the existing Town Code.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that said Local Law is on file in the Mendon Town Clerk’s Office at Mendon Town Hall at 16 W Main St., Honeoye Falls, NY, and HERE, where it is available for public inspection.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York, at a regular meeting held on June 9, 2025, duly adopted, subject to permissive referendum, a resolution, an abstract of which is as follows:

The Town Board of the Town of Mendon, duly convened in regular session, does hereby resolve pursuant to the provisions of section 6-c of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York to purchase a 2025 Caterpillar Next Gen 938 Wheel Loader from Milton CAT, not to exceed $155,244.00 (per NYS/OGS/NJPA Heavy Equipment Contract #PC69406), after the less gross trade allowance of $110,000.00 for the 2019 Volvo L90H loader that Mendon currently owns. To be paid from account DB5110.2

This resolution shall be subject to a permissive referendum, as permitted by law.

TOWN OF MENDON

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 260 of the Town Code of the Town of Mendon, a public hearing will be held by the Town of Mendon Zoning Board of Appeals at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, in said town, on Thursday, June 12th, at 7:00 pm for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in the following application:

An area variance application by Lewis Carter, 79 Lanning Road Honeoye Falls, NY, consisting of 10 acres, requesting relief to construct a pole barn in front of the primary residence, whereas the code does not permit any accessory structure built in front of the primary residence and therefore, requires an area variance.  Zoned RA-1. Tax account no. 223.01-1-15.  The Zoning Board of Appeals will at said time and place hear all persons in support of the application or in objection thereto.  Persons may appear in person or by an agent.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 260 of the Town Code of the Town of Mendon, a public hearing will be held by the Town of Mendon Zoning Board of Appeals at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY, in said town, on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at 7:00 pm for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in the following application:

An area variance application by Peter Pallo, 97 Boughton Hill Road, Honeoye Falls, NY, consisting of 6.73 acres, requesting two Area Variances to construct a pole barn. The first variance is requesting relief from Chapter 260-106, whereas code requires a 60-foot front setback and the proposed pole barn has a 37’2” front setback and therefore requires an area variance. The second variance is requesting relief from Chapter 260-8 (C)(7), whereas code does not permit any accessory structure to be constructed closer to the street or right-of-way line than the minimum front yard setback for the principal building. Zoned RA-5. Tax account no. 229.01-1-6.  The Zoning Board of Appeals will at said time and place hear all persons in support of the application or in objection thereto.  Persons may appear in person or by an agent.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Mendon, Monroe County, New York, at a regular meeting held on May 12, 2025, duly adopted, subject to permissive referendum, a resolution, an abstract of which is as follows:

The Town Board of the Town of Mendon, duly convened in regular session, does hereby resolve pursuant to the provisions of section 6-c of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York that the Town Supervisor of Mendon be authorized and directed to transfer $336,707.64 from equipment reserves (NY-01-1255-0010) to DB5110.2 equipment for the purchase of (2) plow and salter equipment made by Brent Rosiek, seconded by James Merzke.

 

This resolution shall be subject to a permissive referendum, as permitted by law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mendon Town Board has established the following as meeting dates for its boards, commissions, and committees.

All meetings are held at 7:00 PM at 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY.

Town Board: January 6 (Organizational Meeting), February 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, September 22, October 20, November 10, December 8 and December 29.

Planning Board: the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Zoning Board of Appeals: the second and fourth Thursday of each month as needed.

Environmental Conservation Board: the first Tuesday of each month.

Historic Preservation Commission: the first Wednesday of each month.

Board of Assessment Review – fourth Tuesday in May.

Town Of Mendon

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Michelle Booth, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Mendon, has received the 2025 Town and County Collector’s Tax Warrant for the Town of Mendon. Taxes will be received at the Mendon Town Hall, 16 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472-1199, from 8:00AM-4:00PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00AM-1:00PM on Fridays, except holidays.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes may be paid on or before February 10th without interest. On payments received after such date, there shall be added interest of 1.5% if paid on or before February 28th and an additional 1.5% for each additional month or fraction thereof thereafter until such taxes are paid or until the return of unpaid taxes to the county treasurer pursuant to law.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that pursuant to the provisions of law, the tax roll of the Town of Mendon will be returned to the County Treasurer of the County of Monroe on the 1st day of June 2025.
