Community Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC)

The CEAC was established by the Town Board to support transparent and meaningful engagement between the Town of Mendon and its residents.

The CEAC is a volunteer advisory committee appointed by the Mendon Town Board. Its role is to strengthen communication between the Town and residents while supporting meaningful opportunities for civic participation.

The Committee is advisory only; it does not set policy or make decisions on behalf of the Town. The Town Board welcomes volunteers with a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and community connections.

  • The Town Board will appoint a committee chair on an annual basis.
  • The Committee shall organize itself and establish meeting procedures consistent with Town Policy and New York State Open Meetings Law.
  • Meetings will be held monthly or as needed – (schedule TBD)
  • Meeting minutes should be posted to the Town website.

The Committee shall consist of the following membership:

  • 5 – 7 community members appointed by the Town Board by majority vote to serve staggered two-year terms – TBD
  • The town board shall appoint one member as the committee chair – TBD
  • One Town Board liaison (non‑voting) – TBD

Members shall be residents of Mendon, and represent a range of perspectives, ages, political affiliations, and lived experiences, and be willing to work collaboratively in a non-partisan, advisory role to the Town Board.
