Climate Smart Communities (CSC) is a New York State program that helps local governments take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. The program offers grants, leadership recognition, and free guidance from regional coordinators. You can learn more about the CSC program by visiting its website here.

The Town of Mendon is a Registered Community within the program through the Town’s adoption of the CSC pledge. The Town is currently working towards becoming a Bronze Certified Community. The Town established the CSC Task Force to serve as an advisory board that advises and collaborates with the Town Board to accomplish plans, programs, and activities that are part of the CSC Certification program. The Task Force is currently comprised of eleven voting members, including two Town Board representatives and one Town Employee representative.
